"I love to help anyone with a passion for what they do in endurance events. I surround myself with great people as well as other coaches to provide people with a multiple layered approach to their training and racing. I love learning new things about endurance events, and seeing my athletes reach their goals."
Cheryl Griffin has blown me away. Her ability to make me feel comfortable to talk with her over the phone, relate to me as an athlete and person has been nothing short of amazing.
In the past couple of months we have worked together she has been able to quickly and effectively get to the root of some of my issues, all without using the buzz words above.
In a nutshell, her belief is you have to start at the core and work your way out. For us to chase the peripherals around are going to make us very crazy. How I act or react in my events has as much to do with how I deal with several other things in my life. Decisions I make, thought process I have, things I value and items I want to achieve are all related. It is impossible for me to only be good at mental execution in one aspect of my life. By working with me on several components in less than 6 sessions we are making significant progress and she is starting to re spark my love for this sport.
In my blog I try to recognize the greatness of the people around me that I run into. If I did not take a minute to tell you about Cheryl, I would be falling short of my goal."

"Coming to see Cheryl is one of the best moves I have made in becoming a better professional athlete.
Her knowledge of mental performance in any sport at any level is one of the reasons I picked Cheryl. Gaining a mental edge isn't giving enough credit, as I believe that Cheryl also provides you with the necessary tools to achieve that mental edge. The sessions are comfortable, fun, and really give you what you need to become a top athlete in your sport.
I am a better professional golfer now then I was before I met Cheryl Griffin at 2nd Wind Motivation."

"I can never thank Cheryl enough for all the help she has provided for me, facilitating growth as an athlete and a person. Being able to conquer your negative thoughts and keeping a mental equilibrium prove to be skills not only applied in the athletic arena, but in life... and she taught me techniques on how to hone these skills. Cheryl is a kind, patient, and approachable person who I look up to greatly for all she has accomplished and her overall infectiously positive personality.
Having her as a mentor has been one of the most important influences on my college tennis career!"

"Just moments before I stepped on the start line in Belgium for the World Duathlon Championships (2004) | was very unaware of how I might perform. This was only my third duathlon-ever. Here I was lining up with the best in the world and I felt intimidated and afraid----until Cheryl pulled me aside and said to believe in myself, in my talent and to remember why I was there. She had me recall the movie "Miracle" when the United States hockey team realized Olympic victory. They were underdogs, and I was too. I ran the race aggressively, finishing 10th overall.
Cheryl taught me an amazing lesson about how the head can be a tool of strength or of weakness.
She made me believe that "The pain I felt during the race was only weakness leaving the body." | am now ranked the 5th female duathete in the world, after racing only one full season as a pro."

"Cheryl is a true winner in the game of life, by not only living up to all that one can do with leading by example but also teaching it to others.
She helped me come back from a second injury to even still compete in the Boston Marathon, and then encourage me to set the next goal even bigger--- Oita Japan!
Then, she helped me go 50 marathons- 50 states- in 50 weeks!
I have been so blessed to have her as mentor, teacher, and cheerleader, but best of all a friend through all. Just worried of what she will say as a goal after the 50!"

"Cheryl has helped take our team to the next level. She has helped our team become more mentally tough and able stay focused.
Our players can handle any type of situation in their lives because of Cheryl's training. With Cheryl's training our players grades have improved as well as their individual stats on the ball field.
Cheryl is very important to our team. Without Cheryl we would not be able to accomplish the records that we have."

My senior year, after working with Cheryl, I went on to earn my starting spot back, I hit .296 which was a vast improvement from the year prior. As a team, we went on to win the USCAA World Series in Springfield Illinois. Thanks to Cheryl, I played a big role in our championship run.
Even after my collegiate baseball career was over, I implemented so many if not all of the mental exercises to overcome challenges and adversity.
When I decided to pursue my first bodybuilding competition, there were so many times throughout my year transformation I wanted to quit or give up. But I visualized my goal and remained passionate about achieving what I had set out to do. The bodybuilding competition was the hardest physical and mental thing I had ever endured (even as a high school and collegiate athlete). There would no way I would have been able to mentally push through workouts, two cardio sessions a day, and a strict daily diet, without this mental coaching. Whatever you goals you set, I can assure you Cheryl will help you achieve them."
